Calcium fluoride (CaF2) crystal, from 0.13mm to 9mm, has good light transmittance and low refractive index, so it can be used as the original of ultraviolet and infrared optical instruments. Translucent sheet for infrared gas analyzers, achromatic lenses for the invisible spectral range. High-quality microscopes and astronomical telescopes; special lenses for infrared cameras and infrared video recorders used in police investigations.
